Anupam Kher Turns Cowboy for a Day, Recreates His Teenage Dream With Black-and-White Photos in the US

Anupam Kher just turned a teenage fantasy into a picture-perfect reality! The veteran actor recently shared a series of striking black-and-white photographs from his US trip, revealing how a simple dream he had as a youngster unexpectedly came true while he was travelling from Columbus to Atlanta. Channeling the rugged charm of classic American Westerns, Kher and his friends posed outside an old-fashioned smoking lounge, creating their own little movie moment.

Sharing the photographs on social media, Anupam Kher wrote, “THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY! Ever since I first watched an American Western, either The Good, the Bad and the Ugly or The Dirty Dozen, I can’t remember which came first, I had this little dream: to sit outside an old-fashioned smoke shop somewhere in America and take random black-and-white pictures, looking like characters from a Western!”

The actor revealed that the opportunity finally presented itself during his journey through the US. The photographs show Kher alongside three friends sitting in wicker chairs outside The Squires Club, a private smoking lounge. Dressed for the occasion and sporting serious, contemplative expressions, the group looks straight out of a vintage Western film, with the monochrome photography adding even more old-school cinematic flavour.

Kher clearly had a blast recreating the fantasy, admitting that the group got completely into character while posing for the camera. “And what fun we had posing! Serious faces, dramatic looks and our own little movie playing in our heads!” he wrote. The images capture that playful spirit, turning what could have been an ordinary travel stop into a memorable personal moment.

The actor also thanked his companions Rajender Pahl, Gajendra Ahire and Herman for helping him live out his teenage fantasy.
